Outside of work I volunteer on the Board of Governors at a school in my local community. I serve on committees for finance and resources as well as teaching and learning.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to both contribute and to learn more, as I get to work with some really bright people from diverse backgrounds all committed to the same thing. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done.
In 2018 I also got to use my marketing skills as the school looked to rebrand. To achieve this, we worked across all levels of the school, from the Senior Leadership Team all the way through to the pupils to understand what the school meant to them. We then cross referenced the responses for commonalities. The result was ‘opportunity, confidence and growth’ which we baked right in to the strapline of the new school logo, to create an ethos everyone could get behind.
